Emulsifiers & Solubilisers

The MONTANOX™ range are hydrophilic surfactants composed of polysorbates: polyethoxylated sorbitan esters. They play a triple role being used as emulsifiers for oil-in-water emulsions, solubilisers for active ingredients with low solubility, and as anti-aggregants for biological active ingredients. They are stable in acidic or basic media, and in the presence of electrolytes. The MONTANOX™ products can be combined with other surfactants such as MONTANE™ for production of highly stable emulsions.

The MONTANOX™ products are characterised by their hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB), and each have a ethoxylation degree of 20.

The range is available in two pharmaceutical grades: injectable (PPI) and oral/topical (PHA), and in special grades with very low water activity (API) and with low pH (LPI).

The MONTANE™ range are lipophilic non-ionic surfactants composed of sorbitan esters which are well-suited for formulating water-in-oil emulsions for oral formulations. The MONTANE™ products are stable in slight acidic or basic media. They are compatible with other surfactants and can be combined with MONTANOX™ to generate highly stable emulsions.

The MONTANE™ products are based on monoesters and triesters of lauric, stearate or oleic acids. They are characterised by their hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) value, and are available in two pharmaceutical grades: injectable (PPI) and oral/topical administration (PHA Premium).

SIMULSOL™ PHA are hydrophilic non-ionic surfactants which are used as emulsifying and as solubilizing agents in oral or topical formulations. They are excellent for forming oil/water or water/oil emulsions. The SIMULSOL™ PHA products can be combined with other emulsifiers such as the MONTANOX™ or the MONTANE™ range to obtain very stable emulsions. They are also used as a solubiliser for several active pharmaceutical ingredients and vitamins. SIMULSOL™ PHA products are stabile in a wide range of pH and in the presence of electrolytes.

The SIMULSOL™ PHA range is composed of polyoxyethylated products and are among other things characterised by their ethoxylation degree (EO) and hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB).
